Glenda Masingale Manson
President & Artists' Coordinator

Dear Friends,

We are so happy that you have decided to join us for our 15th Anniversary of the Sisters & Friends Afrocentric Fine Art Show.  The 2010 show is going to be special in so many ways.

For the first time in over 10 years, we will be in the new location:
Illinois State University Alumni Center, http://www.IllinoisState.edu/alumnicenter.  This new facility is contemporary in design, with an outstanding staging area.  All artists will be located on one floor.

We have continuing unprecedented support from our local unions and public service organizations to ensure your loading and unloading process will be an easy one.  This year, our theme, “The Academy of Art,” will have a flair that resembles the Academy Awards.  You, our artistic base, have been supportive throughout our fifteen year history; we want to leave no doubt in the minds of our community supporters that they are in the presence of greatness.

This will be the first show in 10 years that is not “weather dependent” since all activities will be held indoors.  We are exploring educational seminars, so that the public will have a deeper appreciation and understanding of the joys and rewards of art collecting, ownership, and creation.  Our Facebook page is currently being developed so that you can encourage your entire fan and supporter base to attend this event.

To you, our friends, supporters and historians of the past, present, and future, “Hold on to your art belts; it is going to be a wonderful ride!”

Artistically yours,

Glenda Masingale Manson
President, Charter Member and Artist Coordinator
